Son of Beast Status - Will it ever reopen?
One of the biggest problems with Kings Island is Son Of Beast. The park had so many problems with it has been SBNO since June 2009, so the question is - What Do you guys think Kings Island is going to do with Son Of Beast?
Reopen it? Demolish it? Get another company in and remaster it?

I've heard various things ranging from demolition to making it over similar to the New Texas Giant. It would be sad to see it demolished completely considering on how beautiful the structure looks but I'm sure it will really cost them money to do a full rehab on it.

Depends on the company who takes on the job. The Iron Horse treatment would be a major wallet killer for them. Bringing in a company to revamp and return it to its former, Looping, glory wouldn't cost AS much as the only major things Son of Beast needed was a proper structure to support the ride itself and the Rose Bowl helix to be either redone, or taken and more added to it.
Again, Gravity Group is the ONLY wooden manufacturer to most likely do this, as the Timberliners are capable of doing inversions, and due to the steering of the wheels, it causes less stress on the track as well. Get rid of the Rose Bowl, give it a Steroid laden Spaghetti Bowl (ala Voyage) and OH SWEET GOD the ride would be AWESOME!

I'm not surprised... I hope they scrape down the ride and put something better in it's place...

The ride has been closed since 2009. I really can't see them investing money into it anymore, but you never know what may happen. We'll see.
