Yes, they need to assemble and program the second train, since the first one is done. Then finish the work on the lift, and then we should see testing. Maybe this week (keeping fingers crossed), definitely next week at the latest.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
The map looks great, thanks for the link. Skyrush just fits in there perfectly!
And you gotta love the path along the creek. Or, as we like to call it already: The Shortcut To Skyrush. How many of us will be making that right hand turn there, just after entering the park??
Also, I can't wait to sit on one of the benches along that path, and just take it all in as Skyrush trains WOOSH overhead every few minutes. The photo and video ops from there boggle the mind.

I'm with ya Mark. I will certainly take that right turn and look foward to watching the ride in action from the path.

Looks great! Can't wait to ride! If the ride is successful, maybe they will convert Storm Runner and Fahrenheit to those new lap bars restraints. Think of the comfort level! Wishful thinking, anyway

Testing won't happen today, probably the beginning to mid-week next week. But, soon nevertheless!

Sounds like a good step towards full testing. Better to test the lift empty than to test with the train and it get stuck

Yes, it's all part of the testing process. I suspect we'll see full train testing at some point this week. It's hard to predict at this point due to the weather, but it's definitely expected to happen this week.

I know I looked at weather bug for Hershey and it looks like there is a few hour window on Wednesday in the morning and every other day it is like when they would test it is supposed to be raining. We will just have to wait and see.

dang you right! I mean, we all know the weathermen are great with their predictions but we should wait and see, because when i looked on NOAA, it said storms and scattered showers, which could turn out to easily be nothing

NOAA is the most accurate weather forecasting agency. weather.gov
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
^that's true, but weather is never completely predictable, and i meant to put emphasis on the "scattered" part, because a lot of times that means 10 minutes of rain, and then it's fine for 3 hours or so

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Someone on coasterforce forums posted a picture of a fully loaded (with test dummied) skyrush train in the station. add this train to the fact that they were just testing the cable and motor, and it looks like today might be the day!

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
That picture was taken by a representative of ALT, they are bringing us coverage, on what seems might be the day for testing! Lapbars are currently being pushed down as we speak. Possibly Sandor was spotted as well! There are reportedly a TON of workers in the station. Rush might have begun testing within the next hour. We WILL keep you posted as the news breaks from our ALT rep who is currently there.

Any word yet, Brandon? Is the train rolling?!? Incredibly excited here! If they are running the train, I'd love to know, could be there in 30 minutes. Doesn't get dark here til 8 pm or later now. Been waiting for this day for a long, long time....
Thanks for any info

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Just got an update from our rep there currently, they are filling the water dummies with water. All the dummies are in the train, and the lap bars are down.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Filling the water dummies, right now?!? Oh man, that doesn't sound like a Tomorrow thing, does it? Sounds like a Today thing.....
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
The lapbars are down as well. After a full day of inspections, today could very well be the day for SKYRUSH testing! We'll continue with the live updates as I receive them from our rep currently there.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
woohoo! this is exciting!
As a side note, the picture i mentioned earlier made it even more clear to me how little there is to those seats/restraints

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
There is a seatbelt.
FINAL UPDATE- Skyrush did NOT test today. Crews have closed shop for the day, all the water dummies are filled with water, in the cars, and restrained in. Hopefully tomorrow is the day that will forever go down in history as the first test run of this world-class scream machine!

^ok, cause i was starting to wonder if suddenly that wasn't required to meet safety standards.
and by world-class scream machine, you mean the new number 1, right

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Well we know that they are ready to test. Tomorrow they will probabally have to recheck all systems and restraints before testing. As long as it isn't raining after that is done we should see testing tomorrow.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
We went over to Hersheypark tonight at 5:30, hoping to see some Testing. But no luck! Took some nice photos and video instead. Gonna try to post a few of the more interesting ones here, including some (hopefully) clearer shots of the water dummies in the trains. I'll have the other 60 or so pics posted on my Facebook page tonight as well.
Wide shot of station.
Close-up of the water dummies, each in a seat. One on right, second row, has a hard hat on! And the neck restraints are an interesting choice by Intamin.... ha ha!
Wide shot from another angle.
And the close-up, all lined up.
Over on the far end, some nice landscaping on The Shortcut To Skyrush path.
The path's archway is still progressing.
