Next New Coaster for Dorney Park (2013 - 2014) ???
In 2012 Dorney Park is getting Stinger, a 'used' Vekoma Inverted Boomerang
This makes there last 3 attractions 'used' (relocated from another Park)
1) 2008 - Possessed (Voodoo)from Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom
2) 2010 - Demon Drop from Cedar Point
3) 2012 - Stinger from California's Great America
After getting more 'used' attractions, what do you think there next Coaster will be?

I would love to see a new GCI woodie be installed at Dorney. I think a lot of us were hoping for that to happen this year but Stinger came instead, which wasn't really necessary at this time. They could've invested in another steel coaster in the near future because now they only have Thunderhawk which, IMO, isn't the best wooden coaster either. Plus having a GCI would also put them in competition with Hershey as well since both would have something from that same company, but both would be unique to the park(s) in which they are located.

^ I totally agree that Dorney getting a new GCI Coaster. A GCI would be a perfect addition to Dorney just like how Prowler was a great addition to Worlds of fun. The two parks are very similar
- Being both owned by Cedar Fair
- Similar size parks, layouts, and overall 'feeling'
- Talon is similar Patriot
- Steel Force is just like Mamba
- Stinger and Boomerang are both Vekoma Boomerang Coasters
The only thing is why they never got one in earlier years...
The reasons I think are because:
- Hersheypark's two (or three) GCI coasters - Wildcat, and Lightning Racer
- They don't want to try with another Wooden Coaster after only problems with Hercules
- Dorney just wanted to keep getting 'used' attractions

I would think that a GCI would be 100% better than Hercules ever was. I rode Hercules back in 2000 and I remember that thing beating me up terribly (I think it was worse then when Wildcat had the PTC's). GCI's are much smoother now, especially with the Millennium Flyers. Doesn't matter if Hershey has two of them, this one could be unique to Dorney and between the two parks, offer three unique ride experiences only approximately an hour in distance from each other.

Since they removed Hercules, I too agree a woodie would be a good addition, but would much rather see an Intamin like El Toro.

I would love to see Lot's of Intamin Pre-Fab Wooden Coasters and I wish every park would have one because El Toro is Amazing! I'm not sure how one would fit in at Dorney though. If they get an Intamin Woodie it think it should be smaller than El Toro (about the same size as Balder at Lieseberg is). Also Balder is very small, compact, and looks like a great wood Coaster - just what Dorney needs.

I don't understand why an Intamin woodie would be a different size than any other manufacturer of woodie. I've been on some great small woodies, so Dorney's certainly doesn't have to be as big as ET to deliver the thrills. I also think from looking at the Dorney Park Mapthey have a ton of space options to build their next coaster. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

I'm still hoping the next coaster would be a GCI. I just think it would be the best option for them at this time.

I'm surprised you prefer a GCI given their rankings in polls like Mitch's compared to Intamin.

I think GCI's are great coasters but I love Intamin Wood Coasters better. But for Dorney, I think a GCI will fit better into the park.
Re: Next New Coaster for Dorney Park (2013 - 2014) ???
We definitely agree CGI and Intamin make great woodies, but I don't think Dorney has a good smooth airtime machine in their line-up, which is why I would prefer the Intamin. Steel Force is so old and clunky, a real smooth ejector air-time machine would be a good fit for the park (imho).

Good point and Yes, Dorney's only airtime coaster is Steel Force (excluding Thunderhawk) - and they both are old. A new airtime coaster should (and hopefully) be headed to Dorney soon.
