Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
I can not wait to ride this monster. If you're not familiar with the ride and it's stats, you can find all the details out on Canadas Wonderland - Leviathan
The latest construction picture from the parking lot leads me to think that this may not only be a speed demon, but also an airtime machine.

I also can not wait to ride Leviathan! It looks like it will be a great coaster and a game changer for B&M and the Coaster Industry.
Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
Not sure that I agree that Levi will be a game changer for the industry, but completely agree it could be for B&M. That little bunny hill after the first turn has really peaked my interest. Can't wait to see some testing vids.

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
In typical fashion for Cedar Fair parks, Canada's Wonderland has officially launched their ride auction to on one of the first three trains out of the station on Leviathan. Having participated in these auctions before, the most recent being I305, I can say without hesitation it is money WELL spent. The park provides plenty of swag and you certainly get more than one ride before the park opens to the GP. Hope to see some All American Thrill fans opening day!

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
I've been following the construction of this ride and let me say, it looks impressive! I hope B&M has a lot of great positive feedback with this ride considering it's their first Giga and that we'll see many more of them pop up around the U.S. and North America.

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
Well I can say Levi is huge but far from beautiful Imo. What was B&M using when they designed this coaster RCT lol, b/c imo the lines and curves on this thing is very awkward and RCT like. That was always my beef with the game is that you couldn't get smooth beautiful lines and sexy curves like an Intamin in RCT.
Anyways I'd still love to try B&Ms first Giga even if it does look like it was bent out of coat hangers, that first drop looks insane and that speed airtime hill also looks sick.

I can't wait to see the first test video of Levi and completely agree with Robjob!
The good news is the ride is now complete and you can see the video of last piece of track being installed on Levi's Facebook Page !!

that's a real elephant trunk of a first drop support. The rest of the layout looks like a beast going into the Hammerhead. That's an incredible looking corner and alley.

For me, this is the surprise coaster of 2012 and can't wait to see the testing video. B&M really has stepped up their game with Levi imho.

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
Canada's Wonderland updated their blog today with an update of the project and some amazing new pics. Even though all the track pieces have been installed, it's surprising how much work is still left - but the one undeniable fact is that the ride looks GREAT !

Awsome! I wish Canada's Wonderland was not as far away from here...
Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
Same here - I wish it were closer, but am now thinking a trip this summer is in order. I can't image the videos will disappoint and probably be the nail in the coffin for me to make the effort.

I still think the trims will kill this ride. I'm still not inpressed with the ride. I need to wait and see until testing starts.
Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
I didn't think it had trims... according to the animated POV video of course... can someone help me find them? ahaha

I'm sure testing will be very soon, and suspect ALT will have it here.

Site we are better than is having a LeviaTHON event.... I would love to go but it would be around $800 for me! -___- I need that money for my first car!
Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
Where do you live knotts? I understand the importance of a first car, just surprised you think it will cost that much having attended I305 opening day from Boston for a whole lot less.

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
Woah that's weird I could have sworn I put Site we are better than event on the front. My bad
I live in Southern California , a couple hours from Knott's. I can't do as many trips as I want to but I'm close enough to hear about most everything to do with Knott's.
And like he was saying, the Site we are better than event does some kind of tour of Leviathan and it gets expensive. I want to try Leviathan, but I think I will wait for a giga here in social

Testing has finally started and I for one am VERY impressed. Love the sustained speed and B&M roar! I also think we may be seeing some major B&M ejector air, but time will tell on that. Enjoy the video:

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
I guess it true what they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I just don't see it in this coaster. Love the roar and that's about it. Imo it looks as if the train is almost about to stall on those 2 big hills, I know it's the first test run but it just looks meh to me. Also Imo other then the first drop Behemoth will still be king of this park.

Great minds think alike and it does look good. Perfect? I won't make that statement until I ride it. Coasters can always be longer
When you thinking of going to CW? Maybe we can coordinate an ALT meet-up there?

Well, if we can pull it off any and ALT members should be invited, since it would be ALT meet-up like the ones at Hershey.

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
WOW, thanks for sharing the POV. While I know we won't for sure until we ride it, and yes, I'm an Intamin fan boy, I will share my initial thoughts.
First, the lift is 1/2 of the ride experience. It takes almost one full minute of the 2 minute ride time. I think it will be a thrilling climb, but a bit long imo. The drop looks GREAT, and with it being followed by the turn, it's hard not to think of MF. I had strong hopes for that little hill that follows, but with that twist, I am afraid it will eat most of the potential air. Hopefully I am wrong. The next hill looks like it will have some extended and amazing floater air, which is clearly something B&M excels at. The following turn and little hill look nice, but I am afraid the focus is on speed not so much thrills. The next hill looks like it will deliver some amazing extended floater air again, which is great. But that's basically the end of the ride. I think we are looking at a ride similar to MF, but no where near as striking. I'm sure it will be a fun ride, but fear it will be very similar, or too similar to the other B&M in the park. I really didn't see anything new or innovative in the ride experience unfortunately.

Well we also have to remember that it's also B&M's first giga. They can learn off of this one whenever the time would come for them to build their next.

Re: Leviathan - B&M's first Giga Coaster
If you watch the lower left and right corners, you can see the water dummies in the seats next to the camera. Watch as they lift out of their seats on the hills. That should give you a good idea of the airtime the ride would produce.
