Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
The first video of The Swarm testing has been posted on their facebook page below. I love the typical B&M roar throughout the video, and it certainly has a compact layout with a pretty short ride time (30 seconds from top of lift to brake). With what appears to be a pretty forceful lay-out, I can't wait to see an on-ride POV and review of the ride experience.

Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
The first two elements are a preview of what's to come for X-Flight. I haven't been on one yet like the most of us but I think the genre goes through the course slower than the typical B&M sitdown. I think it goes through the inclined loop at a regular B&M standup speed. I think because of how high the zero g roll and how wide the corkscrew is the train goes slowly through it. I think it gives guests more time to feel the sensations. It's a tight layout otherwise on The Swarm with the drop really being under the lift and the turnaround and corkscrew going through the inclined loop.
To me Wild Eagle looks like it goes out and back like the Time Machine. I have a feeling Wild Eagle is going to look slow once it starts testing.

Keep in mind nothing has been broken in yet, AND the weather right now is cold. I felt the same thing watching the video, but think come the summer, the speed will increase - time will tell.

Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
A new video was posted, and it FLEW through. Could be B&M trying out different wheels.
Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
I think this is a marketing ploy by the park to generate buzz, given the lack of details. The test video looked like there were no issues, and with this being a B&M, I'm skeptical about any major safety issues.

Testing is starting to wind down with The Swarm, since 4 human rides experienced this monster this week. You can see the official pictures of the riders on the Thorpe's Developers Diary here !

Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
Thorpe Park has released the first on-ride POV from the Swarm. What really struck me was how smooth the outer seats appear to be. Of course it's only a short snippet and not the entire ride, and we certainly don't know the ride with break in over time, but I've got to say it appears to provide a very comfortable ride experience. Can't wait to see more, but enjoy this first vid.

Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
Thorpe Park has released the first POV of The Swarm (below). I was actually surprised that the ride did not appear to be as disorienting as I though it would be, however during the high "G" spots, you can notice quite a bit of vibration. It's early and probably very cold there at the moment, so I'm not sure how fast the ride will go during the summer with a full train of riders, but speed and vibration discussion are encouraged below.

Re: The Swarm- Official Discussion Thread
And it's open(like four days ago) the first major coaster of the year to open.Other than it getting stuck on the lift hill it ran pretty smoothly.
