The 2012 Park Season has officially started and All-American Thrills was on hand for the grand opening of Stinger at Dorney Park, as well as Knoebels for their opening weekend! Be sure to check out our Dorney Park Opening Day Photo T/R in the Trip Planning & Reports section!
Be sure to mark your calendars now and join us for our ALT "Rush the Hollow" meet-up as we help unveil the newest, tallest and fastest coaster in Hersheypark - Skyrush! We have just released our event schedule for 2012 to include all our events listed currently through June, but will also continue to add more as time goes on. Take a look through our "Site Calander" section to see what we currently have to offer and be sure to make plans to join us throughout the 2012 coaster season!

CELEBRATION PLAZA EXPANSION

Cedar Point has announced that it is expanding its new Celebration Plaza. As a part of that expansion, Cedar Point will be removing the WildCat roller coaster.

WildCat was coming to the end of its useful life. With the desired expansion to Celebration Plaza, coupled with the low ridership and increased maintenance costs, Cedar Point has decided to accelerate the removal of the ride. WildCat will be removed from the park prior to Opening Day and the materials will be sent to a recycling facility.

This expansion is one of several initiatives that will beautify the park midways and enhance guests’ experiences. Additional improvements include state-of-the-art lighting packages on Giant Wheel, Millennium Force and Power Tower, a new sound and lighting system along the park’s Main Midway and the re-painting of the Millennium Force and Blue Streak roller coasters.

Cedar Point remains committed to being the roller coaster capital of the world. New roller coasters, rides and attractions will always be a part of Cedar Point’s future.

Eh, I saw it coming, I'm just sad to see it go 'cuz it was the first coaster from Schwarzkopf I've ridden <3

^It's a Celebration Plaza Expansion so I doubt a new coaster will take it's place, probably a new flat ride or show could make it's way in.

They wasted no time on removing it, that's for sure. But then, they don't have too much time left until park opening. Why they waited until now to remove it is beyond me unless it was a last minute decision.

I'm sure Cedar Point will make up for the loss of this ride in some way. Perhaps they'll install a Wild Mouse from Mack, similar to Hershey's or KD's.
