Possible Ride Removal Empty Possible Ride Removal

Found this interesting tidbit over at Screamscape:

2013 - New Coaster - Rumor - (1/16/12) I’m not sure how true this rumor is just yet, but a couple of e-mails were sent in over the weekend suggesting that Six Flags Great Adventure may be planning on removing BIZARRO (formerly Medusa) and putting it into the Ride Rotation program in exchange for a new B&M coaster, thought to possibly be a new X-Flight style Wing Coaster design. If this comes to pass, look for 2012 to possibly be the last season for Bizarro. You can catch some of the discussion about this rumor over at Great Adventure History.

I know it's just a rumor but what are your thoughts about it?

I think it's a shame, but a real win for another park. Biazarro/Medusa is a GREAT ride, with its only "problem" being it's location. It's all by itself at the end of a dead end path, which means you have to think of the ride. You aren't going to stumble upon it or pass it as you would if the ride was located somewhere else. Putting a new coaster there will certainly work the first couple of years, since the ride will be front and center of most guests minds. My fear is that the new ride will suffer the same fate unless other changes are made as well.

^ I agree Bizarro/Medusa has a bad location in the park. Whenever I visit Great Adventure I don't always ride it because its so far away from everything else. But I love the ride and will miss it if it leaves. And I am shocked they will remove/relocate it after a few years ago they spent millions on remastering the ride.

I am happy they will get a new Coaster when the last 'new' good Coaster they got was El Toro ( Very Happy ) 7 years ago. And it will be awesome if a Wing Rider could come so close the the Northeast area.

But, again I am sad that they will remove another Coaster to gain another Coaster. Great Adventure is probably going to be at '13 Coasters' forever. lol

It's in a nice corner with grass and woods. It's not easy for the common guest who doesn't go to the park much and look at the map to stumble upon it.

It's a great coaster.

Update from Screamscape:

http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_great_adventure.htm

Park News - (1/18/12) While there has been a mad rush to spread the word that Bizarro may be leaving SFGAdv after this season, keep in mind that this has not been confirmed at all… not even by me, or my sources. So far there have been just as many reports coming in to say that the Bizarro story is bogus as there were saying that it was leaving, which kind of throws the whole issue into a grey zone. That said, no one seems to be able or willing to confirm or deny this report 100%. So perhaps it is still something just being considered, and not locked in just yet…
