Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Yes, there will be an update from today being posted sometime tonight. They got multiple track pieces installed today, and started painting the footers!
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Were they only putting track up for the 1st half of the turn after the second airtime hill?
And what color are they paint the footers?
And aren't there a few more footers that they still need to build once the crane gets out?

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Yes, I believe they were close to starting the 2nd airtime hil. And the footers are being painted brown.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
I think there's one on the turn before the Stengel, and three more to build for the turn after the Stengel in that area. I think they'll be built once the crane gets out out there so they'll have the room. We'll see.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
The footers around the Stengel Dive are complete, I'm 99% sure.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
OK, SO you want an update??????
Here's a few answers to questions.
The second air time hill is being done due to the fact that the first air time hill crosses over the second. first hill is 80 ft . second is 60 . got to build from the bottom up.
There are a few footers left to pour .. In the one photo you will see the red/pink marks to show where it has to go . There are other footers to be dug up and poured at the other end also. They are working clifford out of the creek bed each day.
next post .......
PICTURE UPDATE .
so hold on folks.
As of right now the image hosting site is not working. i am still trying to get the photos uploaded tonight but it might be delayed.
computers can be a pain.

I am glad I follow the construction b/c I had a geometry project so I decided to make a K'Nex crane that actually works. I would post a pic but can't from iPod

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Yeah, they'll now be able to focus on the section over the creekbed again. Clifford won't be needed too much longer since they can finish the catwalk with the smaller crane.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Just looking at those pictures has me excited for STITP. I can't wait to get in there for that event and check out Hollow and the progress.
Just a reminder to you guys that we'll be having our first in-park meet-up on Saturday - April 14th, 2012 during their STITP event so that will be your first chance to see the renovations to Comet Hollow and Skyrush from inside the park up close.

Just looking at the pics again... crazy. I'm trying to imagine what its going to be like, riding up Comet's lift hill and seeing over a hundred tons of steel arcing a hundred feet over you. That's going to be wild!

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
AWESOME! Thanks for the GREAT pics! It's amazing that the second airtime hill is finally coming together. It shouldn't be too much longer until the rest of the ride is erected now that the main lift hill is pretty much completed. You have some excellent angles there - GREAT job!

I think so. Since it's being themed to look like an old train station.

I believe Walt(wizzard33) got pictures today, but he did report to me only the masons were working yesterday. No track went up yesterday or today.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Bummer, looks like they're back on schedule, so maybe that's why there's no weekend work, but I have a feeling lots will happen this next week!

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
I agree, deff 2 airtime hills this week. And within 2-3 weeks, likely a completed ride.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
I think as long as the weather conditions cooperate, we'll see lots of action this week. I agree with Brandon to probably expect a completed (or almost) ride by the end of the month.

I think that depends on whether they finish the rest of those footers, but I'd love to see it done soon.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
If they're working on the remaining footers as they continue to erect the other portions of the ride, by the time the other sections are completed, the few footers that were poured last will be settled which will mean they can finally complete the whole ride.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Local news station WGAL News 8 out of Lancaster, PA just released this nice story about Skyrush here:
http://www.wgal.com/video/30443949/detail.html
I'm hoping it's on again during this evening's broadcast so I can record it.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Looks like there is going to be some serious ejector air on that first camelback hill. Can't wait to ride this thing.
Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Ok here's a skyrush update(sorry no pics). Well my dad sold a lift there and was talking to the guard (he also has free acces to the site) and the guard said when the flood came they were about two weeks behind but they started working weekends and then they were ahead. Now he also said the track will be done at this rate no later than may 1 and will be open for when it's planned to(which I think is labor day weekend). Well I didn't no if anybody new that so there u go
